Description of Impact

This weekend’s enterprise-wide IT service outage extended past the 8:00 am and noon Sunday time-frames. Since that time, IS&T teams were working on bringing services back online.

IS&T teams have resolved the incident.

Additional Information

Wireless service was unavailable at several buildings on the Charles River Campus. This issue was likely caused by the planned service outage this weekend and was resolved this morning. MyFitRec is now available, possibly as a result of network service restoration this morning. If you continue to have issues, please contact the IT Help Center.

Access to Exchange mail via OWA (xmail.bu.edu and Mac OS X Outlook clients) and mobile devices has been restored. People may need to restart their desktops and laptops before attempting to access Exchange mail again.

IS&T teams will continue their work to bring myfitrec.bu.edu back online tomorrow morning.

Previous Update

Update: BUworks is back online. MyPrint is being brought back online.

Update: BU services including Exchange (Desktop client only – no mobile client or xmail.bu.edu), BU websites, Blackboard Learn and Service Now are coming back online.

The Quest App portal and BUworks portal are still offline.

Emergency repairs are necessary to address a steam pipe rupture in Buick Street that damaged a bundle of optical communication cables in conduit serving the IS&T Data Center at 881 Commonwealth Ave. As a result, institution-wide IT services will be unavailable from 11 PM Saturday 3/14 through 8 AM Sunday 3/15. Many of the major enterprise services impacted are highlighted below. We’ve targeted 11 PM Saturday 3/14 through 8 AM Sunday 3/15 after prior consultation with unit/department administrators.
