Resolved: Full URL was required to reach some BU websites

Description of Impact

Clients were not able to reach BU websites without putting in the full URL, including the https://www. For example, if someone just typed in bu.edu/tech or bu.edu/myaccount they would get an "Unable to Connect" message.

Our network team resolved the issue.

Description of Impact

Clients who use a shortened website address to call up some BU websites will get an "unable to connect" message. For example, if someone just types in bu.edu/tech or bu.edu/myaccount they will get such a message. However, if they type the full path, https://www.bu.edu/tech or https://www.bu.edu/myaccount, the site works as expected.

Current Status

However, this is causing some confusion as most of us are not used to writing the full site address. Our network team is investigating this problem.
