Description of Impact

Intermittent connectivity between Cisco Mail relays and LDAP servers was observed. There were intermittent connectivity issues between Cisco Mail relays and LDAP servers. Significant disruptions in mail delivery were anticipated.

Incident Description and Resolution

Upon thorough investigation, it has been determined that the intermittent connectivity between Cisco Mail relays and LDAP servers stemmed from a misidentification of an IP address associated with one of the Cisco Email Relays. This IP was erroneously flagged as malicious and consequently added to a block list on the campus edge firewall. Today, this IP has been removed from the block list. Following removing the IP from the block list, normal operation of the email relay should resume without hindrance. However, the system may take some time to catch up on the backlog of emails due to the volume accumulated during the disruption. We anticipate no further impediments to mail delivery as this issue has been effectively addressed. If you continue to have issues, please contact the IT Help Center.
