Microsoft Teams was unavailable to access. This affects the Teams application and meetings. This is mostly resolved but some people are still experiencing issues.

The cause of this incident was determined to be an expired authentication certificate.

Description of Impact
Microsoft Teams was unavailable to access. This affects the Teams application and meetings. This is mostly resolved but some people are still experiencing issues.
Current Status
Microsoft telemetry continues to indicate the service has largely recovered; however they’re seeing residual impact in some specific regions. To fully remediate the issue, they’re moving select traffic to alternative infrastructure and continuing to perform targeted component restarts. They’ve previously deployed the new authentication certificate to mitigate impact.

Microsoft initiated the deployment of the updated certificate and is monitoring service health as the fix progresses.

Microsoft Teams is unavailable to access. This affects the Teams application and meetings.
Current Status
Microsoft determined that an authentication certificate has expired causing users who have logged out and those that are still logged in to have issue using the service. They’re developing a fix to apply a new authentication certificate to the service which will remediate impact.
