Description of Impact
Clients were experiencing intermittent authentication issues with Office 365.
Incident Description and Resolution
IS&T teams and the vendor have resolved the incident. In consultation with the vendor, a server was rebooted shortly after 5 p.m. on January 10 in an effort to expedite service restoration. There were some additional reports of problems on the morning of January 11, which were determined to be associated with stale information being cached at the mail client or device level.
Additional Information
The underlying cause of this incident was a problem with the vendor’s network access system services on the morning of January 10.
