Upcoming Enhancements to Zoom Recording Storage and Management

Upcoming Enhancements to Zoom Recording Storage and Management

Starting Sunday, March 16th, we are introducing several enhancements designed to improve Zoom cloud recording storage and management. These changes provide greater flexibility and control in managing your recordings.

ENHANCEMENTS

  • Extended Storage Duration:
    • Zoom cloud recordings and AI summaries will now be stored for up to one year, an increase from the current storage duration of 180 days. This will give you more time to access and review your important recordings.
  • Restored Deletion Capability:
    • You will be able to delete your own cloud recordings, giving you greater control over your content.

MANAGING YOUR RECORDINGS

SPRING 2020 RECORDINGS UPDATE

  • Inclusion in Retention Policy: Spring 2020 cloud recordings, previously exempt, will now be included in the new one-year retention policy, and are immediately subject to these changes. Be sure to review and save any important recordings before March 16th.

NOTIFICATION AND RECORDING RECOVERY

  • Deleted Recordings Recovery: Zoom will continue to allow you to recover deleted cloud recordings from the trash within 30 days, ensuring a safety net for accidental deletions. You’ll also continue to receive emails from Zoom before recordings are permanently deleted.
  • Email Notifications: While IS&T will no longer send email notifications when your cloud recordings are moved to the trash, Zoom will display the remaining time before they are permanently deleted.
