Description of Impact
Clients were unable to access or use some Microsoft 365 services and features.
Incident Description and Resolution
This outage was severe for a subset of our clients, resulting in Outlook being inaccessible, or having degraded features, such as frustrating calendar malfunctions or delayed email sending. Teams was also affected.
Additional Information
This was a global issue and Microsoft identified a recent change they made which they believe resulted in this outage. They have reverted the change are in a monitoring position.

Current Status
Microsoft believes their outage to be mostly over. They wrote, “From monitoring service telemetry, most users should now experience relief. We’ve completed our optimizations and we’re continuing our period of extended monitoring to ensure the availability remains stable.”

Current Status
The Microsoft issue is mostly resolved, according to the company. They wrote, “Current status: We’ve successfully restored functionality for all previously impacted services and users with the exception of Outlook on the web, which is showing prolonged impact for a small number of users. We’ll continue carefully monitoring the service health and focus on troubleshooting this persisting impact to fully recover for the remaining affected users. We’ll provide a new timeline within the next update.”

Microsoft Outlook and Teams have had intermitttent issues today.
Current Status
Microsoft’s latest update is “The service is continuing to incrementally recover. We’re forecasting that impact will be fully remediated by Monday, November 25, 2024 at 10:00 PM EST , though we’re closely monitoring our progress and will provide an updated timeline should the estimate change.”

Clients are continuing to experience issues with Outlook and Teams.
Current Status
The Microsoft situation seems to be improving. Microsoft’s last update was, “We identified a change in the environment that resulted in an influx in request retries routed through affected servers. Our optimizations, which enhanced the infrastructure’s processing capabilities, continue to provide incremental relief. We’re monitoring the service and continuing our work to perform any follow-up actions or opening additional workstreams needed to fully resolve the problem. We understand the significant impact of this event to your organization, we’re treating this issue with the highest priority, and we’re working to provide relief as soon as possible.”

Description of Impact
Microsoft has stated that the following services are degraded: Exchange Online, Microsoft 365 suite, Microsoft Power Automate in Microsoft 365, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, Universal Print. Our clients are still reporting issues with accessing Outlook, emails delays and calendar functionality (such as deleted events reappearing and newly scheduled events disappearing).
Current Status
Microsoft updated, “Our targeted restarts are progressing slower than anticipated for the majority of affected users. An ETA for resolution will be provided as soon as available.” and “We’re facing delays in our recovery efforts and are taking immediate action to address them. We understand the significant impact of this event to your businesses and are working to provide relief as soon as possible. ”
