On October 18, 2006, the University Council approved a process for the development of University Policies, i.e., those policies having broad application throughout Boston University. As set forth in the University Policy Development Process Flow Chart, University Policies are further categorized as Faculty University Policies, Student University Policies, and Administrative University Policies, each having a separate, parallel track for development and approval. The flow chart also includes definitions for the three types of University Policies, a template to follow when preparing a University Policy, and a set of issues to be considered in the policy development process.
