Minors
A minor is an optional program designed for students who desire a systematic introduction to a field in addition to their major. A minor is not required to complete a bachelor’s degree at Boston University.
Minors are generally comprised of five to seven 4-unit courses. Twelve units must be unique to the minor and may not count toward the fulfillment of majors or additional minors. Up to two courses may count towards both a minor and a major. The minor appears only on the transcript.
Students interested in pursuing a minor should consult with their CGS Academic Advisor for further guidance. Completion of a minor may require summer coursework depending on a student’s intended major. CGS students may declare their minor beginning in the fall of their junior year.
