Make an Appointment with your CGS Academic Advisor
Academic Advising appointments can be made directly through the MyBU Student Portal. See below for more information on scheduling an appointment with your CGS academic advisor.

Scheduling an appointment
- Navigate to MyBU Student.
- On the left-hand menu, click the “Advising” drop down menu, then select “Appointments“.
- Click the red New Appointment button on the right hand side of the screen.
- Under Department, select “CGS UGRD Academic Advising.”
- Use the Meeting Type drop down menu to indicate the primary purpose of your appointment.
- Select your CGS Academic Advisor on the Select An Advisor drop-down.
- You can then select your Meeting Mode (In-Person, Phone, or Virtual) of preference.
- Enter a note with more information about the purpose of your appointment in the What Would You Like To Accomplish? text box.
- Your advisor’s availability will appear below in the appointment details area. Select the desired date, time, and mode. Once selected, click the Schedule button.
- The new meeting will populate in the Upcoming tab on the Appointments page. When an appointment is scheduled, the meeting invite will be sent to your BU email and calendar.
Cancelling an Appointment
On the Appointments page list view or in the Appointment Details page, click the Actions button for the appointment you wish to cancel. Then, click Cancel. The Cancel window will display. Enter a message explaining the cancellation reason, then click Confirm.
Rescheduling an Appointment
On the Appointments page list view or in the Appointment Details page, click the Actions button for the appointment you wish to reschedule. Then, click Reschedule.
The availability of your advisor will display. Select the new date, time, and mode, then click the Schedule button.

If you’re having difficulty making an appointment through MyBU Student, you can also schedule an appointment by reaching out to the CGS Student Services team at (617) 353-2850, or visit our office in CGS Room 211 during regular business hours.
