Senior Lecturer, Actuarial Science
A senior lecturer in the Department of Actuarial Science, Mr. Patashnick has several years of experience as a pricing actuary in homeowner’s insurance, as well as a background in software engineering and development. He is also a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. Mr. Patashnick teaches courses that help students to develop actuarial and financial databases as well as implement statistical modeling techniques as an integral part of automated data analysis. He also assists students in gaining hands-on experience in decision-making related to the actuarial field and financial market, and understanding interest calculations as they relate to bonds, mortgages, annuities under continuous and discrete payment schemes, and for instruments with non-level payment schemes.
