Dr. LeClair pioneered the college’s first successful online program, the Master of Criminal Justice (now the Master of Science in Criminal Justice), which remains one of the largest and highest-ranked online criminal justice master’s programs in the country. He served as chair of the Department of Applied Social Sciences through summer 2018. He was director of research at the Massachusetts Department of Correction, and remains involved in research projects addressing addiction recovery and prison reform. LeClair lectures internationally on many topics, including online education, criminal justice, recidivism, rehabilitation, and substance abuse. He teaches courses in victimology, white-collar crime, the sociology of prisons, and research methods in criminal justice settings. In the urban affairs and city planning programs, LeClair teaches special topics in urban architecture, urban history and urban development.
