Each year during Commencement, Boston University’s Metropolitan College (MET) honors students, faculty, and alumni with awards to acknowledge excellence in academics, teaching, and service.

Student Awards

Award for Excellence in Graduate Study

Metropolitan College presents the Award for Excellence in Graduate Study to one student in each academic program who is nominated by their faculty. Nominees have exceptional academic records; have either made an outstanding contribution to the life of the department and/or college or are expected to make long-term contributions to their chosen field; or have completed their program despite unusual circumstances or substantial obstacles.

Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Study

The Awards for Excellence in Undergraduate Study in the Bachelor of Liberal Studies degree program and the Bachelor of Science degree program are the highest honors conferred upon undergraduates by Metropolitan College. Two students earning these awards are nominated based on outstanding academic achievement, commitment to education, and exceptional personal integrity.

Award for Academic Excellence by a Student Serving in the Military

Those receiving the Award for Academic Excellence by a Student Serving in the Military* are nominated by the faculty of the Administrative Sciences MS in Leadership program.
