Paige DiToppa

Prior to BU

During my undergraduate career at Miami, I was involved in various academic and athletic outlets. As a Strategic Communication major, I was a member of PRSSA and worked on various media platforms for the department. I was fortunate to spend the summer prior to my senior year working and studying in New York City alongside various communication professions. During that time, I had an internship with Cadreon, a targeted advertising agency where I learn about their techniques and practices. As a Psychology major, I was a member of Psi Chi, a national honors society for psychology undergraduate students. Aside from academics, I was a Division I Varsity student athlete where I competed for Miami University's Varsity Synchronized Skating Team all four years of my undergraduate career. I was privileged to compete both nationally and internationally during my time at Miami. My proudest accomplishment was winning 2 consecutive National Championships for the university alongside my teammates and breaking United States Figure Skating records.

Why Public Relations

I chose to apply to COM at Boston University because I liked how the program was tailored to specific aspects of communications and I could choose the path I wanted to follow. During my undergraduate career I felt that I had a taste of many different fields within communications, yet I knew that I wanted to tailor my focus as I pursued my academic studies. After taking numerous public relations courses, I found my niche and knew that I wanted to pursue it further. Boston University offers a top-notch COM program that is focused on student learning and engagement, one of the main reasons as to why I found the program so appealing.

Most Looking Forward To

I am very much looking forward to the urban atmosphere that Boston has to offer. Coming from a university that is located in the midst of cornfields, I am excited to spread my wings and live and learn in a different environment. I am also looking forward to meeting wonderful students and renowned professors.

After Graduation

I hope to one day work for a PR agency in a major city across the United States. My dream job would be to work for the Walt Disney Corporation and further advance their outstanding public relations tactics and platforms within their parks and within the media they oversee and produce such as ABC and ESPN.

A Bit About Me

I have been a skater for 19 years and would love to continue my passion for the sport in the Boston area. My hobbies include photography, baking, traveling, and enjoying just about any Broadway musical.
