Mission Statement

We empower communication students to manage their professional development and achieve career goals. We strive for equity and inclusion in the delivery of our services as well as partner with internal and external stakeholders who uplift career equity.

How We Accomplish This

  • Discuss identity in our offerings including our appointments, workshops, mentor programming, internship funding etc.
  • Increase access to career development information by offering workshops that teach multiple students at a time
  • Uplift our student staff through the GCC Program (Graduate Career Counselor Program)
  • Provide a curated list of resources for diverse populations including funded internships and fellowships
  • Partner with employers, faculty, student clubs, alumni and offices around campus to deliver high-quality service
  • Educate students on opportunities to further their career goals through student clubs and classes such as AdLab, PR Lab, PRSSA, AdClub, BUTV10, Redlist, Daily Free Press, BU News Service, WTBU, The Bunion etc.

Career equity is the focus on increasing access to resources that help folks achieve career outcomes while overcoming systemic bias and pushing back against forms of injustice in the workplace.
