The Boston University Statehouse Program offers real-world experience producing content for up to 15 Massachusetts daily newspapers, websites and radio stations. Students come away with experience and confidence in their abilities to produce content on state government and politics in a challenging, deadline environment.

As the largest news operation in the Massachusetts Statehouse, the program typically produces more than 100 byline pieces a semester along with blogs, radio reports and video packages. By semester’s end students have byline clips, including many front-page displays, along with a multimedia content.

Statehouse Program alumni have gone on to the Associated Press, Bloomberg News, Boston Globe, Boston.com, the Wall Street Journal, the Lowell Sun and the Eagle-Tribune, the Brockton Enterprise, State House News Service and a range of smaller suburban dailies and weeklies in Massachusetts. Others have found jobs in their home states based on the experience and clips the Statehouse Program has provided.
