Production is a large part of the Film and Television Department here at COM. Below is a comprehensive list of resoureces that are important to familiarize yourself with prior to and concurrently with production courses taken in the FTV Department.

Film and Television Handbook

This handbook lays the groundwork for students on topics including safety, insurance, permissions, and proper procedures for production. Familiarizing yourself with it can help ensure projects are legal, safe, and well-organized. You will also find key resources and contacts.

Casting Calls

Film and Television Students may submit open casting calls for projects here. A list of open casting call information can be found here. To subscribe for email notifications of upcoming casting calls, please click here. Any questions regarding the posting of casting calls should be directed to filmtv@bu.edu.

Room Reservations

For filming taking place in COM studios, please reach out to comhelp@bu.edu for reservations.

For filming in other spaces at COM or in the new 808 Commonwealth studios, please reach out to Department Administrator Kellie Innes (innesk@bu.edu). Requests should include dates of shoot, the number of people to be present at shoot, and either a preferred space or description of preferred layout. Please allow at least one week for requests to be processes.
