Ivellisse Morales wins PR award

Boston University’s College of Communication has named Ivellisse Morales ('12) of Ansonia, Conn., as the 2012 recipient of the Gerald Powers Public Relations Award, given to a graduating senior who has done outstanding work in the field of public relations.

The $2,500 annual award, granted each spring at the discretion of the dean and a faculty committee, was established in 1999 as a tribute to Prof. Emeritus Gerald Powers, who joined the faculty in 1964. The public relations program at BU is the oldest in the country, created in 1947.

Morales will launch her career working at Cone Communications in Boston as an assistant account executive.
