Activity Leader, Part-Time Summer: Boston, MA
Position title: Activity leader
Dates: July 5 – August 11, 2023
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:45 am – 1:30pm
Location: Fourth Presbyterian Church in South Boston, 340 Dorchester St
Pay: $2500 stipend for all 5.5 weeks
Description: Assist with the care and nurture of children ages 5 to 12 years old during our Summer Meals program. Activity leaders will have an established station that children will rotate through and guide them in your designated activity. If you have a particular interest in art, music, cooking, science, etc. that you would like to teach the kids, we would love to work with you to make that happen.
Responsibilities:
• Build relationships with the children in your group.
• Follow safety guidelines provided by the PC(USA) to ensure safety and wellbeing of children.
• Set up for camp before children arrive and clean up afterward.
• Work with the camp director to establish a summer-long curriculum and identify any supplies needed.
• Guide children in your activity in 45-minute class sessions.
• Maintain communication with camp director (Janine Warrington) regarding curriculum, flow of camp, and any concerns regarding the children.
• All camp staff must attend a required training prior to the start of camp.
