Arrival in Madrid and Orientation

We recommend that all the students (US citizens) register with the US State Department STEP (Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) prior or upon their arrival.

During the course of orientation, students will be introduced into many aspects of life in Madrid through information sessions at the International Institute.

Students will also learn about many logistical aspects of the semester in Madrid:

  • Class schedules
  • Internship positions
  • Transportation card system
  • Host families
  • Health and Safety / GeoBlue

At the end of the orientation, students will  take taxis to their new homes and will have free time to explore Madrid, meet other program participants, and begin their lives in Madrid.

Check the Schedules and Calendars page for orientation schedules.
