Accepted Students Checklist
Study abroad requires planning whether you attend a university for a year, a semester or a summer. Allow adequate time to plan and prepare yourself for your time abroad. As each program requires a slightly different approach, we’ve made a checklist specifically for you!
The checklist below will walk you through the process of study abroad with BU Madrid according to the Madrid Hub page. Following the Madrid Hub page and completing the tasks in a timely manner will contribute to a smoother transition and successful experience.
Internship Placement Process
The internship placement process is coordinated by our partner organization in Madrid, EUSA Academic Internship Programs.
All internship students will participate in a group pre-placement preparation session and an individual pre-placement meeting with a Madrid team to facilitate the placement process.
- Students wishing to complete an internship in Spanish must have completed five semesters of Spanish (or equivalent)
- Students who opt to complete an internship in English must have a minimum of two semesters of Spanish (or equivalent)
Internship students will receive an email from EUSA with instructions for completing EUSA’s online registration process, where you will submit your résumé, a photo, some preliminary information on your placement interests and goals, and a short essay. This email will also contain a link to schedule your pre-placement interview (either in person if you’re in the greater Boston area, or by telephone or Skype if you are not), along with some advice on how to prepare for this meeting.
Make sure to complete the EUSA registration process and schedule your pre-placement interview as quickly as possible to allow EUSA to get started on finding you a great internship right away!
