Grad student wins national PR award
Boston University public relations graduate student Angela Fischer (COM '11) will receive a national award for excellence in public relations at the PRSSA National Conference in San Diego, Nov. 6-10. Based on an essay about ethics in the field of public relations, she is set to receive the Lawrence G. Foster Award for Excellence in Public Relations. The award recognizes a student who has demonstrated an understanding and commitment to achieving excellence as a future public relations professional. Her essay is the beginning of a research study on ethics of licensed public relations practitioners in Brazil. “Ethical standards are critical in today's globalizing world of integrated communications and social media,” Fischer said. “This award is a catalyst for ethics research to create common understanding among cultures.”
