Emerging Media Studies students Yiyan Zhang ('17), Xiaoshuang Guo ('17), Jingru Cao ('17) and Xueying Pan ('17) helped launch a website for Mass Farmers Markets (MFM), a nonprofit organization that supports farmers' markets in Massachusetts.
The website was a part of a design project for EM757 User-Producers 2.0: Developing Interactivity, in which students are expected to partner with a professional client such as start-ups and nonprofits and design a user-friendly, interactive website for the client. The course is taught by Dr. Lei Guo.

"It was a wonderful experience to see our own design adopted by the client. EM 757 provided us with comprehensive knowledge of web design and in-depth understanding of user experience. We also learned how to communicate with real-world clients and how to collaborate as a team. These are the key capabilities needed in the job market," said Zhang.
