Operations Manager, Needham, MA

Carter Memorial UMC in Needham MA is searching for a new Operations Manager, starting July 1, 2016. In this key role, the Operations Manager is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day operations of the pastor and staff, manages use of the church building, provides front line hospitality, manages church communication and conducts all bookkeeping. Qualifications:

  • Personable and eager to serve in front-line hospitality role for the church.
  • Experience with MS-Outlook, MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Powerpoint, and MS-Publisher and the development of formatted documents similar to a church bulletin or newsletter.
  • Bookkeeping experience and/or eager to learn principles of bookkeeping
  • Familiarity with IT technology and willingness to learn to provide IT support.
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Flexible and open to new work experiences and ongoing changes in responsibilities.

The candidate must also read and agree to the Safe Sanctuary policy as adopted by Carter Memorial United Methodist Church. This includes agreeing to a CORI background check and acting in accordance with the provisions set forth by the Safe Sanctuary policy.
Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary is to be commensurate with experience
  • Benefits include: National holidays as designated by the Personnel Handbook.
  • Regular offices hours are 8:30-1:30 (Sept-June) and 8:30-noon (July/August). Flexibility in work hours and schedule are negotiated with the Senior Pastor and SPRC given the varying demands of the church.
