HCM Security Roles

Although IS&T Information Security and your DSA should be considered your primary resource for issues related to authentication, authorization, and identity, the HR Systems team is jointly responsible for several important Human Capital Management (HCM) security roles in SAP.

The following are common HCM security roles that are available for request via the DSA tool in the BUworks Central Portal. This list is not exhaustive, but covers those most frequently used and asked about.

IMPORTANT! Please pay careful attention as these roles have changed. Effective July 1, 2024 there are new roles specific to student employees. If you have any questions about providing a faculty or staff employee access to student employee records, please contact the Student Employment Office.
