Compensation provides the Boston University community with guidance, tools, and support on pay practices and procedures including, but not limited to:

  • Reviewing and analyzing the creation of new positions as well as significant changes made to existing positions
  • Determining FLSA classification and salary grading for University staff positions
  • Advising University managers and leadership on appropriate salaries based on level and scope of responsibilities, market data and internal equity
  • Assisting University leadership, supervisors, faculty, and staff to understand compensation-related definitions, practices, and legal requirements
