Employee & Labor Relations
The Employee & Labor Relations (ELR) team serves as a strategic partner across Boston University, providing support in:
- Problem-solving and mediation
- Navigating labor contracts and employee handbooks and guidelines
- Labor negotiations
- Policy interpretation and consistent application
- Employee engagement and retention strategies
- Risk management
- Exit and stay interviews
The goal of the ELR team is to cultivate a harmonious work environment in which all employees can thrive, perform, and excel. The ELR team consults with employees across the organization, as well as with University leaders and managers of represented and non-represented faculty and staff. The ELR team supports Human Resources in its consultative role to academic and business leaders and partners, while upholding BU HR’s Strategic Priorities, and the University’s overarching mission and standards of excellence.
