Terrier Spirit Days

Consistent with our BU values, and to show visible pride in our Terrier community, starting on Thursday, February 5, and every first Thursday of the month thereafter, BU will celebrate campus-wide Terrier Spirit Days. All faculty and staff across all campuses are encouraged (but not required) to wear Boston University gear, BU colors of scarlet and white, and/or other Boston University attire to work.

Everyone is encouraged to participate, regardless of work location and/or job function, so long as the celebratory attire is safe and appropriate for the work location, and in accordance with any applicable department or school workplace guidelines or uniform standards. Employees working remotely or in a hybrid format on Terrier Spirit Days may participate and demonstrate Terrier pride by dressing up and changing their video backgrounds to be BU-themed. Here’s a link for BU-themed backgrounds for Teams, Zoom calls, or other forms of video conferencing.

Employees who are required to wear a standard uniform may not alter the uniform for Terrier Spirit Days. However, those employees can still participate in other ways, by using BU-themed cups, and workplace-acceptable hats, BU related jewelry, and BU-themed virtual backgrounds for remote meetings.
