Research Interests

My current research is focused at the intersection of liturgy and ecumenism, particularly the shared worship of church bodies in full communion such as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) and the Episcopal Church. This research draws on my passion for the liturgical history, theology, and practices of the Lutheran tradition. Additionally, my research includes special attention to sacred music, hymnody, and congregational song, engaging the interdisciplinary study of music and theology. In my scholarship, I also draw on my experiences as an ordained pastor in the New England Synod of the ELCA and a licensed officiant in the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts.
