Alicia Vélez Stewart

Rev. Alicia Vélez Stewart (she/her|ella) is an Ordained Elder in the New England Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and currently serves as pastor of Weston United Methodist Church in Weston, MA and as the summer camp chaplain and theological supervisor at Camp Aldersgate in N. Scituate, RI. A Latina of Puerto Rican heritage, Rev. Vélez Stewart has a passion for inclusive ministry, and is a fierce advocate for social justice and community engagement. Rev. Velez Stewart integrates her Wesleyan theological roots with a progressive approach to ministry, focusing on inclusivity, compassion, integration, and spiritual growth. Her deep commitment to faith and justice continues to inspire and guide her pastoral work both with her congregation and in the larger community where she serves. She holds a Master of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology and has a deep commitment to fostering vibrant, fully-inclusive communities in the local church and beyond. Rev. Vélez Stewart is known for her dynamic preaching, dedication to pastoral care in her congregation and community, and her efforts to make the church a welcoming space for all.
