2026 Biostatistics Distinguished Alumni Award: Call for Nominations
We are seeking nominations for alumni who embody the Boston University School of Public Health’s core purpose: “Think. Teach. Do. For the health of all.” Through their work in biostatistics, the ideal candidate demonstrates excellence in the following areas:
- Think: Notable scholarly achievements, including high-impact publications, innovative methodology, and successful research grants.
- Teach: A commitment to the next generation of biostatisticians through formal instruction, clinical supervision, or dedicated mentorship.
- Do: A career centered on biostatistical practice and active leadership in professional organizations, government policy, or the public sphere.
- For the Health of All: A tangible impact on public health, with particular emphasis on addressing the needs of underserved populations or achieving widespread global health improvements.
Eligibility & Inclusivity
We invite nominations for alumni from all BU Biostatistics programs (MA, MS, PhD, and MPH). We are committed to a diverse pool of nominees and welcome candidates from all career paths, areas of expertise, and personal backgrounds. Special consideration is given to those who have demonstrated resilience and persistence in reaching their professional milestones.
Submission Guidelines
Anyone—including students, staff, faculty, and external colleagues—is eligible to submit a nomination. Self-nominations are highly encouraged.
Required Materials:
- Nominee’s CV
- One-page Nomination Letter addressing:
- Professional achievements since graduation.
- The measurable impact of their work.
- Service and dedication to the biostatistics profession.
- Significant obstacles or challenges the nominee has overcome.

- Award: The 2026 recipient will be invited to the Boston University campus in Fall 2026 (tentatively October) to receive the award, deliver a keynote presentation, and engage with current students.
