Important Notice for Students Travelling to Spain with Medication

Students traveling to Spain may bring their personal medication and can carry up to three months’ supply, though border officials may request a prescription or medical report.

If the medication contains narcotic or psychotropic substances as part of medical treatment, must have a permit issued by the Spanish health authorities authorizing their entry into Spain with this medication.  This permit must be requested at least 10 days before travel by emailing Estupefacientes@aemps.es in PDF format with the necessary documents (application form, medical certificate, prescription, passport, and travel tickets). Students are responsible for checking whether their medication appears on the UN or AEMPS controlled substance lists. The permit, once issued, is valid for three months.

Please read below for full details and instructions.
