Benefits Administrative Information

All of the plans described on this site are sponsored and administered by Boston University. These plans were designed to provide you with an outstanding benefits package, one that is comprehensive and also responsive to the needs of all employees.  Eligibility for the benefit plans described on this website applies to those University employees on the US Payroll.

To guide you through this section of the site, we have divided it into the following segments:

  • Flexible Benefits Program – Provides an overview of the tax-saving advantages of our Flexible Benefits Program.
  • About Your Plans — Contains information on the types of plans, funding and administration of the plans, and a description of documents and laws governing all the plans. Also explains how to appeal a denied claim.
  • Your Rights Under ERISA — Outlines the provisions of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 and describes your rights under these provisions.
  • Summary Annual Reports – Includes links to the most recent version of our benefit  plans’ Summary Annual Report.
