Internship (Fall/Spring/Summer)


The Madrid Internship Program is offered for those students who are looking to enhance their Spanish language skills while working abroad in one of Europe’s most important vibrant commercial centers. 

The (semester) program consist of an internship (along with an internship seminar) and three additional courses from those offered through either the Madrid Spanish and European Studies Program or the Madrid University Studies Program (spring only).


Madrid Spanish and European Studies

Students are required to enroll in one Spanish language or literature course and two elective courses at the 
Instituto Internacional en España


Madrid University Studies

Students are required to enroll in an advanced-level seminar on contemporary Spain and two elective courses at the
Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. 


The (eight-week) program consist of an internship (along with an internship seminar) and one elective; 
courses are taught by Spanish and international faculty at the Instituto Internacional en España

  1. Students intern (approximately 20 hours per week) and enroll in the seminar. 
  2. Students enroll in one elective.

All students should confirm in advance with their academic advisors which courses may be taken for major, minor, and departmental requirements, and which courses may be taken for elective credit.
