6/16: Prof. Ruth Paris Co-Presents Webinar on Interventions for Parents with Substance Use Disorders

Successful interventions for mothers with substance use disorders and their young children are a vital way to ensure the health of both the parent and child. To share best approaches to intervention, Prof. Ruth Paris and Susan O’Donnell, director of early childhood trauma services at the Institute for Health and Recovery, will give two free virtual webinars. The workshop, “Lessons Learned from Project BRIGHT,” is hosted by the University of California San Francisco and the Early Trauma Treatment Network. Participants will learn the context for traumatic stress and substance use disorders and an intervention that emphasizes developmental progress and resilience. In addition, participants will learn how to help clients:
- Recover from substance misuse
- Build reflective functioning
- Enhance emotional regulation
Paris and O’Donnell will also illustrate the interventions through case vignettes and research findings. This event is free thanks to the sponsorship of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. You can watch the first webinar below, or register for the second webinar on June 16, 2022.
