BUSSW at CSWE’s 2020 APM: Presentations, Awards and Conversations

Social work faculty, students, practitioners and field professionals will convene virtually this year for the Council on Social Work Education’s (CSWE’s) 66th Annual Program Meeting (APM) from November 16–20, 2020.
Throughout the week, faculty, students and staff from BU School of Social Work will participate in presentations and panel discussions on topics ranging from virtual reality to examinations of BSW and MSW student experiences.
Boston University will also be represented by Ibram X. Kendi, founding director of the new BU Center for Antiracist Research, who is featured in the plenary session, “How To Be an Antiracist: A Conversation With Ibram X. Kendi.”
At the APM awards ceremony, faculty member Betty J. Ruth will be recognized for her tireless work as an educator and advocate, for which she receives the Significant Lifetime Achievement in Social Work Education Award. A clinical professor at BUSSW and director of BU’s dual degree program in social work, Ruth has been a teacher and mentor to countless students and is a pillar of the School community. Tune in from 1:00–2:00pm ET on Friday, November 20 to join her at the virtual awards ceremony.
