National Public Health Week.

Ready. Set. Action!
Join Graduate Student Life in celebrating National Public Health Week! NPHW 2026 marks the 31 st anniversary of National Public Health Week—a milestone opportunity to raise awareness about public health and how your organization and community support it! Ready. Set. Action! is this year’s theme. As we celebrate, take a moment to recognize how public health has improved our daily lives, safeguarded our families, expanded our life spans, and strengthened our communities. This week is also a chance to honor the public health workers who show up for us every day — and to advocate for policies and practices that promote good health for all.

2026 NPHW Priority Topics
Ready. Set. Action: Government Partners — Government agencies and public health professionals must row in the same direction. Coordination is the backbone of clean water, safe food, disease prevention and emergency response. Good health doesn’t just happen — it’s built on a foundation of safety and sanitary laws enacted by governments to keep us all healthy.
Ready. Set. Action: Government Partners
Ready. Set. Action: Scientific Advancement — Science is not abstract — it is the reason most children live past the age of five and most adults live well into later life. Science delivered vaccines, sanitation, seatbelts and safer workplaces. Good health doesn’t just happen — the knowledge gained through science makes it possible.
Ready. Set. Action: Scientific Advancement
Ready. Set. Action: Community Leadership — Public health lives in our environments: the air we breathe, water we drink, sidewalks we walk and parks we enjoy. These are not amenities — they are lifelines. Good health doesn’t just happen — communities set the stage to shape it.
Ready. Set. Action: Community Leadership
Ready. Set. Action: You Partner with Public Health — Public health is not something done to you — it is something created with you. Individuals shape outcomes through daily choices and collective advocacy. Good health doesn’t just happen — you help create it.
