Boston University welcomes more than 800 transfer students each year, contributing to a vibrant and diverse campus community.
The Credit Evaluation Department processes and posts external credit for incoming transfer and first‑year students, as well as for current BU students. Final decisions about whether specific courses will be accepted for transfer are made by the academic Department Evaluators, who review relevant syllabi.
If you plan to take external summer courses before enrolling at BU, contact the Credit Evaluation Department at credeval@bu.edu to begin the evaluation process.
Current BU students who intend to take courses at another institution should consult with their school or college at BU before enrolling in those courses.
