Time Services
Time services involves timekeeping functions for non-exempt employees (weekly paid) and exempt employees in some cases (FMLA, unpaid absences, etc.), and managing the balances of time off for all BU employees, except faculty.
Non-exempt employees enter their hours worked and release for approval on a weekly basis through Employee Self Service (ESS). Exempt (monthly paid) staff are not required to submit time sheets, but they must request time off using the Time Off Request (TOR) facility available through ESS. All Charles River Campus employees can request time off (i.e., vacation, sick, etc.) through Employee Self Service under the “Time Services” section.
Timekeepers are responsible for overseeing all time-related functions; managers generally approve their employees’ time and approve requests for time off.
