Ruth Named to Health & Social Work Editorial Board
–Farha Sandhu (COM ’09)
BUSSW Associate Clinical Professor Betty J. Ruth has recently been invited to serve as a consulting editor for Health and Social Work, a journal of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
For over 20 years, health professionals have relied on Health & Social Work for the latest advances in areas such as clinical work, long-term care, maternal health, oncology, substance abuse, depression, and aging. Articles also cover policy, specialized services, quality assurance, in-service training, research, and other topics that influence the delivery of health care services.
“I am very happy to have this opportunity. Health and Social Work publishes important work on social work in health care settings, a dominant area of practice in contemporary social work," states Ruth. "I hope to support and strengthen the journal’s interest in and commitment to publishing scholarship on prevention, health promotion and the use of the public health approach in social work practice.”
