Associate Professor Jordana Muroff of BU School of Social Work has been named editor of the ABCT Clinical Practice Series, a book series published by Oxford University Press that serves as a how-to guide for mental health service delivery.
According to OUP, the ABCT Clinical Practice series is an “easy-to-use, highly practical collection of resources for mental health clinicians and trainees,” focusing on the practical application of therapeutic and assessment approaches. Prof. Muroff previously served as a member of the series’ editorial board. As editor, she looks forward to engaging authors and readers in various mental health fields and focusing on evidence-based and culturally-responsive mental health approaches.
Prof. Muroff is a nationally recognized expert on mental health, particularly on hoarding disorder and OCD. She is the author of Group Treatment for Hoarding Disorder: Therapist Guide (Oxford University Press, 2014), and her research on mental health and substance use disorders has appeared in American Journal of Public Health and Depression and Anxiety. She is interested in using health technology innovations to reduce health inequities and stigma and improve access to mental health services for underserved populations.
At BUSSW, Prof. Muroff is chair of the clinical practice department and an associate professor, teaching MSW courses on cognitive and behavioral treatment, clinical practice with individuals, and clinical research methods.
