7/15: Prof. Hahm Speaks at American Foundation for Suicide Prevention Event to Support AAPI Communities [Video]

As part of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) town hall series, “Elevating Voices for Long-Lasting Change,” Prof. Hyeouk Chris Hahm is one of four panelists at their latest installment, “Supporting Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities: Mental Health Experiences, Discrimination, and Reducing Stigma.” The town hall will be virtually available through Facebook Live, hosted on AFSP’s Facebook event page.
“This discussion, featuring AFSP’s chief medical officer Dr. Christine Yu Moutier and moderated by The Washington Post’s Marian Liu, will focus on how AFSP’s national network of chapters and beyond can support the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community,” AFSP reports. Topics will include mental health status, mental health utilization, risk and protective factors of suicide behaviors, stigma related to seeking help, and high suicide rates among AAPI.
