9/30: BUSSW Student Kris Berg Leads NASW-MA LGBTQIA2S+ E&I Workshop

Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) dual degree student Kris Berg, CPS, MSW/MPH, will lead the first workshop in the LGBTQIA2S+ Equity and Inclusion (E&I) series from the National Association of Social Workers Massachusetts Chapter (NASW-MA).
Berg’s workshop, “Building LGBTQIA2S+ Cultural Competency: An Introductory Workshop for Social Workers,” addresses the limited representation of LGBTQIA2S+, transgender, gender-diverse, and intersex (TGDI), topics in core social work education. Designed as an introductory and foundational session, the program creates a nonjudgmental, supportive learning space where participants can ask questions, explore ideas, and build knowledge to better support LGBTQIA2S+ communities in today’s sociopolitical climate.
Berg has been an active advocate on this topic while at Boston University, first as an undergraduate helping to establish the University’s first LGBTQIA+ Student Resource Center, and now as an MSW/MPH graduate student and co-founder of Rose & Berg Consulting, an agency that supports businesses, non-profit organizations, & academic institutions in their efforts to create inclusive cultures & dismantle systemic barriers.
