The Activist Lab is working with Code for America to create a corps of students to help US residents benefit from the Child Tax Credit. This program focuses on people who may be non-filers, undocumented, or otherwise have issues getting typical tax money. Through the Child Tax Credit program, these individuals are eligible to receive additional financial compensation for each of their children.

This event will give BUSPH students more information about getting involved with Code for America, specifically as a volunteer doing direct outreach and assisting individuals with coordinating and filling out forms. This is a flexible volunteer opportunity; students are able to select and adjust their availability throughout the semester and work entirely virtually. This will provide students with exposure to policy and provide chances to be involved with the implementation and actualization of policy initiatives. Students can read more about the program here, and volunteering with them here.

If you are interested in volunteering, please come to this virtual open house to meet the Code for America team, learn more about the Child Tax Credit, and ask any questions you may have.
