From Debbie Cheng, Assistant Dean of Data Science

Dear SPH Faculty,

The Center for Health Data Science is pleased to launch the AI Teaching & Learning Collaborative, a new faculty peer-learning initiative focused on the thoughtful and responsible use of generative AI in teaching and learning. As generative AI continues to reshape higher education, many of us are exploring how to incorporate it into our teaching while maintaining academic rigor and preparing students for an AI-enabled workforce.

The Collaborative brings faculty together to share experiences, questions, and approaches and learn from one another as AI continues to evolve. It includes an interdisciplinary Faculty Learning Community, which will meet monthly during the academic year, and an AI Teaching Commons, where faculty can share and access practical teaching resources and insights emerging from the community. Faculty from all disciplines and levels of AI experience are welcome, and no AI expertise is required.

Registration is now open for our orientation session on Thursday, September 24, from 1–2pm (Founders Room, Talbot). Lunch will be provided for registrants.

Visit the AI Teaching & Learning Collaborative webpage for additional information, meeting dates, example learning topics, and registration.

I hope you’ll consider joining us.

Best,
Debbie
