9/15: Prof. Sprague Martinez Speaks on Challenges of Community Empowerment

Prof. Linda Sprague Martinez will be the first speaker this year at the 2022 – 2023 Building a Culture of Community Engagement, a speaker series hosted by BU’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI). Prof. Sprague Martinez is co-director of the Culture Engagement Program at BU CTSI and will be joined by co-director and speaker Tracy Battaglia, MD. The Cultural Engagement Program features talks and networking opportunities with speakers, researchers, and faculty members who share how cultural engagement and research can be applied within communities. On 9/15, Prof. Sprague Martinez will discuss how to navigate white supremacy culture, shifting power to communities, and how to overcome the challenges of empowering communities.
