BU School of Social Work Names Two New Members to the Dean’s Advisory Board

Boston University School of Social (BUSSW) names two transformational leaders to its Dean’s Advisory Board: Jackie Jenkins-Scott (MSW ‘73) and Raymond Han (CAS ‘98).

Jenkins-Scott, president of JJS Advising, is a nationally recognized leader with more than 40 years of experience in senior and executive positions in public health, higher education, and corporate and nonprofit boards. Widely recognized as a strategic leader, she has helped individuals and institutions achieve high performance and growth.  

She has a proven record of transforming institutions including Roxbury Community College, Wheelock College, and Dimock Community Health Center where she expanded access and strengthened infrastructure. Jenkins-Scott has also served on numerous nonprofit, corporate, and advisory boards. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University, a Master of Social Work degree from BUSSW, and has received six honorary doctorates for her contributions to leadership and community impact.

Raymond Han is the vice president and senior director of human services products and innovation at Vimo, a services and technology firm dedicated to supporting state and local health and human services agencies in delivering their mission of aiding our most vulnerable neighbors. Previously, he served as chief client officer for Accelalpha, as well as managing director at Accenture where he focused on transformational change at U.S. and international governments with a focus on agencies serving children, youth, and families. 

Han sits on the advisory board of Brighter Children, which is dedicated to delivering quality primary education to vulnerable children. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from BU’s College of Arts and Sciences.  

The Dean’s Advisory Board (DAB) advises the BUSSW dean and senior administrators on matters of strategic importance. Composed of alumni, friends of the school, community leaders, and emeriti faculty and staff, DAB members are chosen for demonstrated leadership in their field, commitment to BUSSW, and a strong interest in promoting social work education. Their knowledge and resources enable the school to meet its objectives and support its mission to develop dynamic and diverse social work practitioners, leaders, and scholars through rigorous teaching, innovative research, and transformative community engagement.
