After the 2020 U.S. presidential election—and amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and continuing racial injustice—the role for social work and public health in addressing pressing health and social justice issues will be more crucial than ever before. In this post-election discussion, Rebekah Gewirtz, executive director of the National Association of Social Workers – MA Chapter, and Carlene Pavlos, executive director of the Massachusetts Public Health Association, will discuss their organizations’ priorities, policy agendas, and strategies, and provide analysis on how practitioners and leaders in social work and public health can identify opportunities and work toward positive change during the next administration. Hosted by the Center for Innovation in Social Work & Health at Boston University’s School of Social Work.
This event is free and open to the public. Advance registration required – register here.
1.5 free continuing education credits are available for social workers licensed in Massachusetts, after completion of a brief quiz.
