SEIU L509 (BUGWU)

The BU Graduate Student Workers Union (BUGWU, Service Employees International Union, Local 509) agreement applies to all graduate student employees employed by the University to provide research, instructional, or teaching services, subject to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement. To be considered a part of the bargaining unit, graduate student employees must be enrolled in Boston University graduate programs and must receive compensation in exchange for providing research, instructional, or teaching services. The following are expressly excluded from the bargaining unit: Non-Service Fellows; All other graduate students, undergraduate students, temporary employees, casual employees, confidential employees, managers, guards, and supervisors as defined in the National Labor Relations Act.
