This traditional Boston brownstone was built in 1895 by Arthur H. Vinal, who served as City Architect of Boston from 1884-1887 and is best known for his Romanesque High Service Building at the Chestnut Hill reservoir.

The building sits on leafy Bay State Road in BU’s East Campus. At one end, East Campus puts you right at the heart of  BU’s Charles River Campus classrooms, labs, libraries, performances, and student amenities. At the other, you’re on the edge of Kenmore Square, a public transportation hub and the gateway to Fenway Park and its surrounding nightlife. Just beyond Kenmore lies Back Bay, with a bevy of upscale dining and shopping options.

For relaxation, East Campus fronts the Esplanade where you’ll find green lawns, walking and biking paths, sailing, rowing, and gorgeous views of the Charles River.

East Campus isn’t just the best of both worlds, it’s the best of three: campus, city, and park.
